See I was thinking of doing a Lever Action shotgun Leviathan Battle Ax (God of War) combo, but I was trying to work how I could get it to include a function to increase the brute force of the hit from using the firing mechanism. So long story short, I need help.
What you could do to increase the power of the swing is have the shotgun and firing mechanism fold up onto the back of the hammer, so when you swing the axe you pull the trigger the shotgun fires, adding to the switch.
Another idea is to use the design of Reinhardt from Overwatch and have a jet engine or rocket engine, either an extra component of the shotgun or an extra part of the weapon itself, so that when you swing the engine activates and gives your swing extra oomph.

If I would take the design from Reinhardt The character would have to be a rather big boy because I was hoping for him to use a Shield that can collapse in on it'self and be attached to a vambrace. A bit like Kratos's shield in God of War 4, but the Reinhardt idea is something to think about. B ut it's not gonna be a war hammer it's gonna be a war ax ya know choppy choppy.
To be fair the jet propelled weapon can still be attached to a war axe to give the same effect. Big swing, burst of extra propulsion, deeper hole in the target.
And it doesn’t have to effect the size either. A small jet engine can be built into the head of a one-handed axe.
you could also try and build another small engine into the handle of the axe so that it can levitate, then have the axe fly back to the owner if thrown. All using jet engines.
